A motorcycle accident in Santa Clarita has left one man dead and gallons of water spewing onto the street, according to a Signalscv.com news report.
The collision happened near the corner of Newhall Ranch Road and Golden Valley Road. The accident was a single rider collision involving a motorcyclist. A man was riding a small dirt bike, and lost control of his vehicle near the intersection and slammed into a nearby fire hydrant. The collision blew open the fire hydrant and sent water rushing onto the street.
When the L.A. County Fire Department arrived, the man was treated and later transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. The man died in the hospital. Fortunately, no one else was hurt in the crash.
The Santa Clarita Water Division was able to stop the out of control fire hydrant shortly after the crash. Investigators are still working on what could have caused the man to lose control of his vehicle.
Poor road conditions, other drivers, and faulty mechanics could have all played a role in the crash. Depending on the circumstances, victims of these kinds of wrecks may be able to take legal action.
