Explosion at Exxon Mobil Refinery In Torrance

An explosion was recently reported at the Exxon Mobil refinery in Torrance. The report was by the residents who heard the explosion and felt the ground shake The cause of the explosion is currently unknown.

Students at the Torrance School District (30 schools in the district) were told to shelter shortly after the incident, as well as stay indoors due to the air quality. Several witnesses have reported that there was dust falling from the sky.

Capt. Steve Deaul has confirmed that the refinery had been working to control some leak of petroleum that activated their flare system.
