An 87 year old Los Angeles woman was severely injured last month when struck by a hit and run driver in Highland Park. Paramedics took the woman to the hospital, where she was listed in critical condition. Police are seeking information as to the identity of the driver. Witnesses say the driver was a man in a black BMW 740i Sedan with McKenna dealer plates.
If you or a loved one is injured in an accident with a hit and run driver, you may be wondering how you can get compensation for your injuries if the driver is never caught. Unfortunately, the majority of hit and run drivers get away with their crime.
In such a case, you will have to get compensation from your own insurance company if you have uninsured or underinsured driver coverage. This can be a problem because your insurance provider is in the business of turning a profit, not the concerned friend they pretend to be.
For this reason, it’s very important to seek representation from an experienced personal injury attorney.
Motor vehicle accidents can cause serious and life altering injuries. As an accident victim, you may find yourself facing mounting costs for any of the following:
- Medical bills
- Lost wages due to time off of work
- Property damage
- Physical therapy and rehabilitation costs
