Deadly Hit And Run Claims Life

Bike Hit and Run AttorneyPolice are asking for the public’s help in determining the identity of an unknown driver that struck a 22-year-old man yesterday and subsequently fled the scene.

As reported by KTLA 5, the collision took place Sunday night at the corner of Slauson and San Pedro Place. According to police investigation, the victim was riding his bike westbound, around 8:25 p.m. when he veered off the sidewalk and onto the path of an oncoming vehicle. The car was turning onto San Pedro when it struck the man and ran him over. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Currently there is no description of the driver, however, police believe the individual was driving a Toyota Corolla.

Simply put, there is no excuse for a hit-and-run accident. In the state of California, and the rest of the country for that matter, drivers who are involved in a bicycle accident have a duty to stop. Regardless of the severity of the collision – whether it resulted in only minor property damage or severe injuries – everyone involved must stop and lend aid where needed. Failing to do so is not just a crime. It is a despicable act and warrants serious legal action.
